The group is intended for new mothers who may be having difficulty adjusting to motherhood. We discuss Post-partum Depression and Anxiety, Traumatic Birth, other mental health conditions related to having a newborn. We discuss the signs and symptoms of these disorders, risk factors and other factors that contribute to PMAD. It is a confidential support group and the format is intended to be casual and supportive. We often do relaxation exercises, some cognitive behavioral therapy, and other techniques to support new moms.
- Only newborns, also known as lap babies, can attend with their mommies. - Delivering at Twin Cities is not a requirement. - All group members must sign in weekly on the website in order to attend.
